Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College came into existence in 1991 during the birth centenary year of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. It is a constituent college of the University of Delhi and is sponsored by Delhi Government to cater to the needs of higher education in trans-Yamuna area. It is a co-educational institution.
